1-800 Medicare Update

For your best information, call Medicare at 1-800 MEDICARE.   Representatives are prepared to assist impacted Maryland retirees to identity other prescription plan choices.

Callers to 1-800-MEDICARE should identify themselves as Maryland State Retirees to get the additional assistance with their Medicare Part D questions and the plan finder.

Remember, open enrollment for Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug) Plans is October 15 – December 7, 2018 for coverage starting January 1, 2019.​

Seeking a Medicare Expert?

For additional guidance in selecting a Part D plan or other specific Medicare questions, please call 1-844-627-5465 to be connected to your local Department of Aging.  Trained staff and volunteer counselors in all 23 counties and Baltimore City provide free, in-person and telephone assistance through the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).

For SHIP offices outside of Maryland visit the Eldercare Locator website at https://eldercare.acl.gov/Public/Index.aspx​. On this site you are able to enter your zip code and find local resources to help you understand Medicare Part D and the options available to you.​
