TITLE: CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST, MEDICAL (4290)
SALARY: $49,638 - 79,693 (Grade 19)
CLOSING DATE: OPEN AND CONTINUOUS
DESCRIPTION: A Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for the clinical quality of direct nursing care for an assigned area of a facility. The employee provides direction, training and guidance on clinical nursing practices to the Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and non-licensed nursing care staff; a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Medical provides specialized medical nursing care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: A Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience providing medical nursing care.
LICENSE: Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. A copy of current license MUST accompany the application.
NOTES:
1. Persons appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland; their driving records will be subject to investigation.
2. Applicants may be given a medical examination and may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform the work required of the position prior to appointment.
3. Persons appointed in this classification may be required to provide the facility with a telephone number or other means by which they can be reached.
