SALARY: $40,268 - $64,282 (Grade l6)

DESCRIPTION: This is responsible specialized professional work in the area of community health education at the State and local level. Employees in this class serve as health education advisor to specific program areas at the state level, or as educational consultant to two or more major program areas or directorates in a large local health jurisdiction, or as director of health educational services in a small local health jurisdiction. This work is characterized by the degree of independent judgment and resourcefulness required in directing this activity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health Education, Community Health Education or Health Science.
Experience: Two years of experience planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects.
Notes:
1. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science or related behavioral science and three years of experience planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects may be substituted for the required education and experience.
2. A Master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health Education, or Health Science may be substituted for the required education and one year of the required experience.
3. A Doctorate in Public Health, Community Health Education, Health Science or Public Health Policy may be substituted for the required education and experience.
LICENSES: Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
