Community Health Nurse Program Supervisor

TITLE: COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR  (4219) MK

SALARY: $45,650 - $73,259  (Grade 18) (Effective July 1)

CLOSING DATE: Open and Continuous

DESCRIPTION: A Community Health Nurse Program Supervisor is the supervisory work planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a program of nursing services for patients in various settings and local health department clinics.  Employees supervise Community Health Nurses and other health care staff assigned to the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  A bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience as a community health nurse plus one year of additional experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a registered nurse.

LICENSE: Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215.   A copy of current license MUST accompany application.

NOTES:          
1. A bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

2. Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

3. Three years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required experience.

4. A master's degree in nursing or related field may be substituted for the two years experience as a community health nurse.

5. Persons appointed in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance to Executive Order 01.01.1989.05 and the Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09 "Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs".

6. After an offer of employment, applicants may be given a medical examination to certify the ability to perform essential job functions.
