Community Health Nurse Supervisor (4218) CAD

SALARY: $42,867 - $68,626 (Grade 17)

CLOSING DATE: Open & Continuous

DESCRIPTION: The main purpose of this nursing leadership position is to organize, supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff which includes Community Health Nurses or other health care staff.  This position requires participation in the Communicable Disease program with a leadership role with childhood immunizations and The Health on the Boards seasonal primary care program.  Additionally, general clinical nursing services will be provided as the “Nurse of the Day” in Berlin.  Additional responsibilities in program planning for other areas may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
 
Experience: One year of experience as a community health nurse.

Notes:
 
1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

2. Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

3. A master’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required education and experience.

4. One year of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES:

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a registered nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland  21215.

2. Persons appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland, and their driving records will be subject to investigation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLASSIFICATION:

1. Some positions in this classification are assigned duties which will require the individual to be examined by a physician.  After an offer of employment applicants for such positions will be given a medical examination to certify the ability to perform essential job functions.
