POSITION LOCATION: Annapolis, Maryland
NATURE OF WORK: This position is the full performance level of work designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a technical position responsible for consulting with systems users to plan, develop, evaluate and revise application systems, preparing conceptual designs of proposed new or revised applications systems, preparing technical application systems designs and project specifications, coding programs using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages, using specialty software to perform utility routines, developing and assembling systems documentation, implementing applications systems, performing emergency maintenance on applications systems and performing other related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Each candidate must: Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field to include coursework in systems analysis and applications programming using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages.
AND
Have one year experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application systems and programs using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages.
NOTES:
1. Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field to include coursework in system analysis and applications programming using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for the required education.
2. An additional year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications system and programs using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for the required education.
3. Experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by developing program code using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis.
4. This is a full time contractual position with an hourly wage but no fringe benefits. SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS:

Credit is given for relevant part-time, temporary or volunteer experience based on the number of hours worked per week. You must include on your application the time you spent in such activity.
