All Maryland State Government Departments and Agencies have a Veterans Services Specialist or “liaison” who can provide general information to State employees who have served in the military or who have family members who have served in the military with information on veteran-related resources. They can also answer general questions citizens may have about these resources. The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) Outreach and Advocacy Program works alongside liaisons to share information and improve veteran services coordination.

What veteran programs/benefits are offered by this Department/Agency?
The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) is a State Government Executive Department with a service mission to assist veterans, active duty service members, their families and dependents, in securing benefits earned through military service. Under the Department of Veterans Affairs are five major programs: the Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Program; Charlotte Hall Veterans Home; the Veterans Service and Benefits Program, Outreach and Advocacy Program, and the Maryland Veterans Trust. Also managed by the MDVA is the Maryland Veterans Service Animal Program and the Veterans Services Specialist Program. The Department is represented on the Governors Commission on Suicide Prevention, The Maryland Interagency Council on Homelessness, the Governors Workforce Development Board, the Collaboration for Student Veterans Commission, and various local work groups and councils.
