The Central Collection Unit's mission is to collect delinquent debts owed to the State of Maryland in the most cost effective manner while employing the highest professional standards.
Government Shutdown Assistance:
The Central Collection unit (CCU) is available to assist Federal Employees financially stressed during the Federal Government shutdown.
Because every situation is different, CCU will work with Federal Employees on
an individual basis to provide solutions on accounts with the CCU. Options may include an extension on current
payment plans or a zero down payment plan.
Individuals should call us at our regular number (410-767-1220) and one of our collection specialists will assist you.
During the period of July 2, 2018 through July 9, 2018 CCU will be completing the first phase of our modernization effort and will be transitioning accounts from our legacy collection system into our new collection system. During this time you may continue to remit payment, but note that those payments will not be posted to debts until July 9th. If you would like to remit a payment by telephone and/or require immediate registration services (MVA, EZPass, or SHA debts), you must contact our customer service department at 410-767-1220. Representatives will verify that satisfactory payment was remitted and fax release information to the MVA. Normal automated processing should resume on July 9, 2018.
