Central Collection Unit

The Central Collection Unit hours of operation for the Baltimore and Glen Burnie locations are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30pm. However, due to a high volume of in-person customers and wait times, these locations are subject to close earlier than scheduled.

Central Collection Unit Text Message Scam

The Central Collection Unit (CCU) has been made aware of potential scams being sent to individuals via text message. Please be advised that our office is committed to protecting your personal data; we do not use SMS (text message) to communicate or collect debts owed to the State of Maryland.

If you receive a text message claiming to be from CCU, please be aware that it is a scam. Do not provide any personal or payment information. To confirm if you have an outstanding debt with our office, please contact us directly.

Your security matters to us and we encourage you to stay vigilant.


New Feature: Forgot PIN – To retrieve your Debtor Number and PIN​

The CCU Debtor Portal is available for the following services:

  • Retrieve your debtor number and PIN.
  • Provide 24-hour access to your CCU Accounts.
  • Make electronic payments on debts.
  • Create a payment schedule for MVA Insurance Compliance debts for vehicle release of service.
  • View account balance & status.
  • Check for payments received and payment history.
  • Payments remitted will be applied to debts within 15 minutes.

CCU encourages you to pay off your de​bt in its entirety or contact us to mak​e payment arrangements before your taxes are intercepted. ​You may visit a CCU satellit​e office located at MVA locations without ​making an appointment. If you require additional MVA services, you will be required to schedule an appointment​ with the MVA.
