David B. Aalders serves as the Acting Eastern Region Maintenance Administrator for the Department of Capital Construction and Facilities Maintenance within the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS).

His goal for the past 18 years has been to build a team of professionals who pride themselves on technical excellence. This team provides maintenance services at every opportunity by exceeding expectations in the complete maintenance of 5 correctional facilities in the State of Maryland. 

In the United States Navy, he served for 20 years as Chief Petty Officer, a Navy Deep Sea Diver, and Underwater Construction Team Diver.  During his career he directed and supervised the execution of 892 man-days of deployed and local construction.  He was responsible for the physical plant property maintenance of 45 facilities (913,000sf) on four parcels of land comprising 88 acres valued at $72 million. He also provided strategic solutions to naval construction and special operations (SEAL) commands worldwide providing Construction Quality Inspectors for several National Security Projects worldwide. In addition, during this time he held a TOP SECRET clearance.

Aalders received an Honorable Discharge in 2001. He considers it his honor to have served his country and to have helped maintain the security of the United States of America. He served with devotion to duty in keeping with the proud tradition of our Armed Forces.
