Purpose of Role: The Database & Application Serve Engineer will primarily be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the Judiciary's database (Oracle/SQL), application server (WebLogic/Tomcat), and identity management (Oracle OUD/OIM & Redhat SSO) environments. This position will also assist with the support of the Oracle BI environment.

Essential Functions: Designs, implements and maintains High Availability Weblogic/Tomcat architecture in a fast-paced production environment. Creates Weblogic domains and managed servers in a high availability environment. Creates, manages and tests data sources for 100+ applications in dev, test, and production environments.  Migrates Weblogic environments from AIX to Linux via Transportable Tablespaces and Export/Import. Implements OHS, OAM and Weblogic plugin for application deployments in AIX and Linux Weblogic environments. Performs SQL queries, manages Oracle database users, determines patch set levels, and maintains version compliance for database and Weblogic servers. Performs Oracle database patching, Weblogic application server patching for audit compliance. Installation of SSL certificates in WebLogic, PeopleSoft, and BI environments. Reviews Oracle users for audit compliance, last login. Ability to create UNIX shell scripts to perform server start and stop functions

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited College or University.

Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in installing, configuring and maintaining databases, application servers, or identity management environments to include Oracle OUD/OIM, Oracle BI, or Redhat SSO.

Note: Professional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Skills/Abilities: 

  • ​Technical Support for installation, configuration, and tuning of the following ORACLE software products:
  • Provide technical support for Spring environment (Tomcat, Redis, etc.).
  • Must provide expert level WebLogic design, implementation, management and tuning of Weblogic architecture including OAM, OIM, OUD, and OHS.
  • Must provide expert level knowledge regarding web service security using Oracle LDAP, Oracle SSO, SAML, Oracle Identity Management Suite products, and other emerging security technologies in a production environment.
  • Must provide expert knowledge, implementation, and deployment capabilities in a high availability production web services environment.
  • Must provide expert level audit, logging, monitoring and management of SOA web services and database access.
  • Must provide expert level configuration and design skills regarding implementation of SOA design patterns that adhere to current and emerging SAO standards and policies (OASIS).
  • Must provide expert level architecture and design skills regarding Oracle products including Oracle Weblogic server (12C), Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence Suite, and the Oracle Identity Management Suite products.
  • Must provide expert level problem resolution skills regarding product configuration and integration.
  • Must effectively communicate SOA designs, patterns, configurations, and implementation details, and provide detailed documentation.
  • Must provide appropriate expert level subject matter expertise for each of the requirements above
  • Educating the Infrastructure team on the Design model, various products implementation models, Scenarios and complexities involved.
  • Oracle Database administration skill sets for managing user accounts, data sources, and SQL queries.
  • Ability to create UNIX and LINUX shell scripts and programs
  • Java coding experience, Unix shell scripting and other programming experience required.
  • Experience with Pluggable databases required.
  • Experience with ExaData or Cloud based database architecture, design, implementation and maintenance.
