SALARY: $26,783 -$41,816

 

OPEN AND CONTINUOUS

 

POSITION DUTIES:  This is metal work at the journey level in the steam maintenance section of a State institution or agency.  Employees in this classification are responsible for independently performing skilled tasks in assembling, installing, repairing and maintaining high and low pressure steam or hot water systems.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Each candidate must have completed the sixth grade,

AND

Have four years of paid employment as a steam fitter.

 

SELECTION PROCESS:   Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be admitted to the examination for this classification.  It is essential that you give complete and accurate information on your application.  Successful candidates will be placed on the employment list as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED OR QUALIFIED.  The list will be used by the hiring agency to select employees.

 

EXAMINATION:  The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of this job.  This is an unassembled examination; no written examination is required.  It is essential that you give complete and accurate information on your application.

Annual Leave:
