SALARY: $26,7382 - $40,771 The salaries referenced above are in accordance with the State of Maryland Executive Order 01.01.2009.11 – Fiscal Year 2010 State Employees’ Furlough and Temporary Salary Reduction Plan.

POSITION DUTIES: This is the full performance level of work in electrical maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Each candidate must have:
Education: Completion of the eighth grade.
Experience: Four years of experience installing, repairing, testing and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and control devices at commercial or residential buildings or other facilities.
Notes:
1. Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Graduation from an accredited vocational or technical high school or other vocational or technical school with a concentration in electricity may be substituted for three years of the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLASSIFICATION:
1. Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24-hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
2. Employees in this classification who are designated as Level I or Level II employees shall attend and successfully complete the appropriate asbestos safety and health training as required by Executive Order 01.01.1987.22.

QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess the minimum (and selective, if applicable) qualifications to be considered for this position. If you are scheduled to complete an educational or licensing requirement within six months of the assessment, you may participate in the examination process. Permanent Maryland State employees may also complete necessary experience requirements within six months of the date of the assessment. However, such candidates will appear in pending status on the eligible list until documentation has been received that the educational and/or experience requirements have been met. Credit may be given for relevant part-time, temporary, or volunteer experience, if you list the number of hours worked per week. For education obtained outside the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service.
