Annual Salary:  $ 38,594 negotiable $49,859 progressing to $61,427 (Grade15)
 
Location: This position is with the Maryland Department of Planning (MDP), Maryland Historical Trust (MHT), located in Crownsville.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:   Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. (Note:  Applicants may substitute additional relevant experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.)
 
Experience: Three years of experience in grant evaluation and monitoring or budget preparation, presentation, and execution.   Computer proficiency (word processing, excel and database experience) is required as is a valid driver’s license. 
 
Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in accounting and land record research and documentation desirable but not necessary.
 
The Assistant Grants Manager primarily performs duties associated with the administration of State-funded Historic Preservation, African American Heritage Preservation, Museum, and Heritage Area Grant Programs.  This position also assists the Grants Manager with the State Loan Program and the Federally-funded Certified Local Government Grants and with the preparation of the annual and end of year Historic Preservation Fund award as needed.  The position works with MHT project monitors, grantees, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Accounting Office to collect, assemble, and ensure the accuracy of all information required for the execution and proper implementation of grant and contract agreements.  The position creates and maintains grant and contract files and databases, preparing correspondence and reports as necessary.  The position verifies grantee expenditures and processes grantee payment requests.  The position may also be assigned other duties as necessary by the Grants Manager.
