Salary Range:
$31,610 -- $49,299 annually (Grade 12)
$15.16 – $23.64 (hourly)

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative, procurement and budget support to the Program by managing tasks related to financial management, procurement processing, computer inventory management, accountants payables reconciliation, accounts receivable support, records retention, fiscal year-end closing and other financial analysis as deemed necessary.
 
Candidates must meet the minimum and the selective qualifications.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:  Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
Experience:  Two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:  1. Applicants may substitute a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required education and general experience.
2. Applicants may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year experience for 30 credit hours of education, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.  (These notes cannot be used to substitute for the selective qualifications.)
 
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS:  (REQUIRED) Please indicate this information on your State application (MS-100).
One year of experience in purchasing/procurement activities;
                                                     AND
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Excel.  A test will be given at the time of the interview in order to demonstrate the applicants’ skills.
 
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS & CERTIFICATES:
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
 
SELECTION PROCESS:  Only candidates who meet the minimum and selective qualifications will be considered.  It is imperative that you give complete information on your application.  Please note that you will be required by the appointing agency to provide proof upon hire for all certifications, licenses, education and work experiences.  For education obtained outside the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. The assessment is designed to measure the applicant’s knowledge, skills and abilities as they relate to the duties of this position.  Applicants will be notified when and where, if applicable, to appear for written, oral or demonstration examinations.  If the examination is an evaluation of relevant training and experience, a notice will be sent if further information is needed.  Successful candidates will be placed on the employment list categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED OR QUALIFIED and remain eligible for consideration for at least one year from the date of the examination.  This list will be used by the hiring agency to select employees.  You must possess the minimum qualifications before you may be selected for a State position. Verification will be completed by the Appointing Authority.  If you are scheduled to complete an education or licensing requirement within six months of the examination, you may participate in the examination process.  Permanent State employees may also complete necessary experience based on the number of hours worked per week.  You must include on your application the time in such activity.  You must be legally authorized and possess any necessary documents under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act to be hired in the position for which you apply.
