REVENUE ADMINISTRATION DIVISION – INTERNET TEAM

SALARY: $36,280 - $57,567* - Maryland State Salary Rules may apply.
*TRSP – Temporary Salary Reduction Plan effective per Executive Order 01.01.2009.11 September 23, 2009 through June 29, 2010.

POSITION DUTIES: The Revenue Administration Division’s Electronic Tax Processing Section in Annapolis is now recruiting for one IT Functional Analyst Trainee position. Duties will include assisting in the design, development and maintenance of the online Maryland iFile, bFile and Billpay application programs, with primary focus on assisting in the testing and monitoring of these applications, and processing returns and electronic return preparers in transmitting and processing their electronic filing and assist software developers in product development. Those in this position must be willing to work Monday through Friday from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and must be willing to work overtime evenings and/or Saturdays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Information Technology or other related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems.

NOTES:
1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and two years of experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications may be substituted for the required education.
2. Experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.
LICENSES, REGISTRATION & CERTIFICATES
The nature of the position requires that the employee be able to travel. Employees in this class may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employee assigned such duties will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with and knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL), FILE-AID and SYNCSORT
Experience in reading and writing technical specifications relating to data flows
Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting application problems
Experience in testing and establishing test plans
Experience and knowledge of tax return preparation and processing
Good verbal and written skills.
Experience communicating with technical customers (programmers and vendors) and non-technical customers (taxpayers and tax preparers)
Ability to work under pressure or in situations where priorities change
EXAMINATION PROCESS:
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position as listed on your Maryland State application (MS-100), and any supporting documentation submitted. It is essential for you to provide complete and accurate information regarding all experience and education that is pertinent to the minimum qualifications for the position. Successful candidates will be ranked as “Best Qualified” “Better Qualified” or “Qualified” and placed on the employment eligible list for a period of at least one year.
