Essential Functions: 

Evaluates emerging technologies and implements new systems, processes, and procedures to maintain the security of Judiciary personnel and information assets. Responsibilities include staying informed on emerging threat landscapes, leveraging existing tools to monitor for active threats, and working with Information Technology teams to implement an end-to-end security infrastructure. Manages the security operations center, SIEM, and all internal and external offensive/defensive operations. Responsible for IT risk identification, management, and mitigation strategies. Responsible for internal and external vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and vendor engagements to assess the security of the network. 

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in the areas of information/cyber security management, IT threat or risk management, or information security operations. Two (2) years of experience supervising professional staff.

Note: Professional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of IT risk identification, management, and mitigation strategies in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and leading practices used to mitigate threats to assets and systems.
  • Knowledge of Security and Infrastructure Architecture/Technologies: including, but not limited to Routers, Firewalls, IDS, PKI, VPN, Two Factor Authentication, Identity Management, Data Leak Prevention, Encryption, Application Security, Vulnerability Scanners, Penetration Testing and Windows Systems Security.
  • Knowledge of Networking protocols and security related architecture.
  • Skill in leadership, supervisor roles, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Skill in information security related devices and appliances, Firewalls, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), and other specialized equipment and tools.
  • Skill in project management experience (task identification, prioritization, and documentation).
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and effectively handling sensitive situations and people.
  • Skill in professionalism and personal integrity.
  • Skill in analytical and problem solving.
  • Skill in administrative duties with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates.
  • Skill in an advanced level of written and verbal communication and effectively tailoring the communication to the needs and experience of the intended audience.
  • Ability to develop and maintain task plans, report on activities and project areas assigned, and identify items for management attention.
  • Ability to adapt to a high paced work environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through tasks to completion.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple responsibilities which may frequently change.
  • Ability to learn information quickly and apply risk/control considerations which impact downstream decisions.
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external auditors.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
