It is estimated that over 38 million Americans have diabetes and that nearly 10 million more have it and don't know it. In Maryland alone, more than 500,000 adults have diabetes and every year about 30,000 more Marylanders are diagnosed. According to the CDC, diabetes is now an epidemic.
